Brooksville

Free and Accepted Masons, Hernando Lodge No. 97: 7:30 p.m. June 1, 515 S Main St., Brooksville. Lodge of Instruction is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Richard Trout, (352) 238-9596.

Hernando Audubon Society: Annual picnic, 5 p.m. Thursday, Alfred A. McKethan Park, 10800 Pine Island Drive, Pine Island. There will be a birding/nature walk starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the picnic at 6:15 p.m. Hot dogs provided by Audubon. Members should bring their own place settings, nonalcoholic beverages and a covered dish to share. Bring a field guide, binoculars and/or scope for the walk. This is the final event of the season. Hernando Council Senior Citizens No. 1: 8187 Fort Dade Ave. Pinochle is offered from noon to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost is $3, which includes lunch and prizes. Visitors and new members are welcome. Linda, (352) 573-7696.

Spring Hill

Daughters of the British Empire, War of the Roses Chapter: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive. The "Hernando Four," four women whose organizations provide support for U.S. troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, will discuss ways individuals and groups can support the troops. Refreshments will be served. Daughters of the British Empire is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian American organization. Membership is open to women British by birth, naturalization, marriage or descent, or those who come from any commonwealth country.

Hernando Hills Hi-Lites: Rehearsal, 7 p.m. Mondays, Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd. This is a women's a cappella chorus. New members welcome; experience is not necessary. Tessie, (352) 686-4122.

Irish-American Society of Hernando County: Picnic luncheon, 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Bayport Park, 4140 Cortez Blvd., Bayport. Bring lunch and beverage. There is plenty of seating under the pavilion. Polish-American Social Club: Polonia dinner-dance, Sunday, 7615 New Jersey Ave., Hudson.
