. HOLIDAY UPDATE

Few fireworks accidents reported

The Fourth of July holiday passed with few mishaps in the Tampa Bay area, authorities said.

Only one fireworks-related injury was reported. A 38-year-old man in Tampa sustained burns to his face late Saturday night in an incident at Nebraska and 113th avenues, said Tampa fire Capt. Jace Kohan.

The man, whose name wasn't available, was taken to Tampa General Hospital.

Fireworks also caused a fire that damaged a home Sunday afternoon.

The blaze started just before 2 p.m. at 2503 E Lake Ave. Though no injuries were reported, the Tampa Fire Marshal's Office reported that the fire caused $50,000 in damage. Firefighters put out the flames after about 20 minutes.

Investigators believe that fireworks from a nearby house started the fire.
