Tampa City Council member John Dingfelder has stirred up a lot of talk about curbing the sale of alcohol at Gasparilla, and he's put quite a scare into the nonprofit groups that benefit from beer stations.

It doesn't appear the council will block the charities' beer sales, but that hasn't stopped the groups from creating talking points to support their cause.

Beer money has an entirely different meaning for groups like Self-Reliance, which uses its profits to repair equipment for the disabled, including wheelchairs for children.

Let new measures take effect before this more drastic step. …

All-Children's Hospital included Emily Mooney's boxing glove among mementos placed in a time capsule Wednesday. Mooney, a 17-year-old former heart patient, received the glove from her grandfather as an infant to symbolize her fight.

The time capsule kicks off a monthlong celebration for the hospital's new facility, which opens Dec. 12. …
