The Beta Pi chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority meets on the first Tuesday of every month from September to May at Stratford Court of Palm Harbor, 45 Katherine Blvd.

Phi Beta Psi Sorority was founded in 1904 by five young women as a civic organization whose aim is to participate in charitable work, to promote fraternal relationship among members and to establish and assist other chapters of Phi Beta Psi. Today there are chapters in almost all 50 states.

Helping to fund cancer research is the organization's national project. Last year, the Beta Pi chapter presented a check to Dr. Jonathan Lancaster at Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Foundation in Tampa in the amount of $58,300 to further his cancer research. Funds are raised through projects that include an annual spring fashion show, garage sales, silent auctions and bake sales.

Women interested in learning more about Phi Beta Psi Sorority and the Beta Pi chapter can call Linda Reining at (727) 536-6481 or Janet Withopf at (727)781-3584.
