In an ongoing fundraising effort by the Kiwanis Club of Tarpon Springs, donations of used cell phones, MP3 players, system consoles, and all related accessories and power cords can be dropped off at Publix Super Market, in the Tarpon Mall Plaza, 40968 U.S. 19 N, Tarpon Springs.
Donations will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and reused and may be tax deductible.
"We are very excited about this program," said Mary Watts, president of the Kiwanis Club of Tarpon Springs. "This recycling program not only benefits the Tarpon Springs community but assists in preserving the environment and bringing communications to people who could not otherwise afford it."

The Florida West Coast Orchid Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pinellas County Cooperative Extension, 12175 125th St. N, Largo. There will be an educational class at 7 p.m. and a short meeting at 7:30, after which Jim and Emily Clarkson will discuss "How to Ready Your Orchids for the Show Bench."
