Testing Grounds The latest industry being outsourced to India is clinical drug trials. And any number of tragic things can happen on the way to your medicine cabinet.
Friday Night Rewind It doesn't matter which team you cheer for. We've got video previews of every high school football program in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando County.
Local musicians will join forces a week from today to help one of their own.
Jules Dobrowolski, simply known as "Jules," has been an active member of the local entertainment scene for at least eight years.
"He is just the nicest guy you would ever want to meet, and he has a lot of fans throughout the Tampa Bay area that have grown to love him for his incredible songwriting, both romantic and comical," said Leigh Humes, one of the event organizers.
The singer-songwriter was recently diagnosed with cancer. Dobrowolski is to start treatment and will be unable to work entertaining or at his day job, as a mortgage broker.
He regularly performs at the Ka'Tiki on Sunset Beach in Treasure Island, the Whistlestop Cafe in Safety Harbor and at other local venues. National artists are reportedly considering recording some of his songs.
An outpouring of artists have volunteered their talents in hopes of raising at least $2,000 to help support his family of five while he undergoes chemotherapy.
Twenty independent musicians will perform a mix of original tunes, oldies, blues and rock 'n' roll in 20-minute sets from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Ringside Cafe.
The minimum $10 door charge, any donations, and proceeds from a raffle and silent auction will go to Jules.

Jules is a talented singer/songwriter, and we should be hearing more of his work! Many don't know of his efforts in a state consortium to help seniors avoid home foreclosures and "rescue" scams. We're proud to support the benefit for Jules on Sunday.
