OLDSMAR — Michelle Dole is not one to go back on a bet.

That's why, with a grimace, the bartender at Oldsmar Cop Shop Sports Bar on Tampa Road is wearing a Tampa Bay Rays T-shirt this week.

Because of an ongoing bet with fellow employees and several patrons, the Boston native and Boston Red Sox fan agreed to wear a Rays T-shirt for a week if the home team won the American League East title.

"I feel itchy all over," Dole, 35, said, with a half smile. "I know I'll probably have a rash once this week is over."

The Cop Shop's kitchen supervisor, Larry Strickland, couldn't wait to buy the T-shirt for Dole. The two have locked horns all season on which team was better. The verbal sparring resulted in the wager. Strickland has bought two T-shirts for Dole to wear and will likely get another.

"I must say, I'm glad I don't have to wear a Boston jersey," he said, as he gave Dole a huge smile.
