Can you outlast this treadmill-running AARP member? Rick Clark, Town 'N Country's self-described geezer, wants to know.

Challenge him from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bally Total Fitness, 4340 W Hillsborough Ave., for his Beat the Geezer Treadmill Challenge.

Clark, 53, has been running competitively since 1980. He wanted to do something more tangible than compete in marathons and races around the country. So in 2006, he started the competition as a way to promote fitness while raising money for charity.

Monday's event is free, but donations to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay will be accepted.

Participants don't have to be Bally members.

Spectators are also welcome. Everyone will receive free food and services from Sweet Tomatoes, Zen Massage and Fit2Run. Bally will kick in a free trial club membership for participants.

For more information, e-mail rickclark@tampabay.rr.com.
