TAMPA — About 60 mothers, daughters and other ladies in their families gathered Friday for an elegant evening of conversation, including neat tablecloths, chair covers with bows attached, food and tea, at the Cyrus Greene Center at 2101 E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The community center has various staff-planned events throughout the year. The first Saturday of June will be a father-daughter dance.

With the turnout of the mother-daughter tea party, organizer Janice Girven hopes to make it an annual event.
