Chess players match wits outdoors in St. Petersburg

Dennis Bolden (left), 53, and Eugene Ruffin, 41, play chess while sitting outside under one of the picnic shelters near the water at Bay Vista Park, 7000 4th St. S., in St. Petersburg Monday afternoon (09/15/14). The two men are part of the KOK (Knights of Knowledge) Chess Club. They play chess for a few hours almost everyday. "It's cool. It's a nice atmosphere," Ruffin said about playing chess in the park. They squared off for six games on Monday. No one keeps score but Ruffin said he won probably 5 to 1 on this occasion.
