Emergency workers of the world compete in Clearwater

Members of the Latin American Rescue Team make an emergency entry into a vehicle Wednesday during the World Rescue Challenge at Coachman Park in Clearwater. The team represented one of 25 countries and 32 teams that competed in the event, which was open to the public. The park and Clearwater's Harborview Center were transformed into a disaster site, where teams competed in the Auto Extrication Challenge and the Trauma Challenge. The event also featured a water rescue demonstration by the Coast Guard. This year's WRC marks the first time the event has been held in the United States.
