TAMPA — Couples took their first tango lesson of the semester hosted by the Argentine Tango Club at the University of South Florida's Marshall Student Center in Tampa on Sunday.
Although the club offers classes for many levels, the class is considered to be the first level and is open to the public. Some couples were instructed to dance with their eyes closed to better feel each other's movements.
Students learn the very basic steps, including how to move linearly, according to instructor Richard Cepeda.
Olivia Roberts, another instructor, said, "I love tango, because it is a very passionate dance about connecting on a different level with people."
