Drawing attention to victims' rights

OCTAVIO JONES | Times

Standing among survivors and victims of violent crimes, Virginia Castro-Conway, 69, an art teacher from Lincoln Park, N.J., holds up a poster board with a drawing of her late niece Joey Hattenbrun as a toddler. The drawing recollects fond memories of Joey, who would visit during vacations. Hattenbrun was murdered by her father-in-law in 2011. Castro-Conway was attending the annual Victims' Voice program held in the Hernando County Government Center on Wednesday. The Victims' Voice program is held in conjunction with National Victims' Rights Week.
