Monday and Tuesday

Hospital Auxiliary "Back to School" closeout sale: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Brooksville Regional Hospital, Conference Room 2, 17240 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville. Premier Gifts will have a variety of trademark merchandise such as Spider-Man, Disney, Transformers, Scooby-Doo, Leap Frog and Baby Genius items. All items will be offered at a discounted price and include backpacks, pens, crayons, pencils, paper and binders. Wednesday

Mommy & Me: 9:30-11:30 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville. This is an interactive program for children ages 2-4 and their parents (mom or dad). Polish-American Club Old-Fashioned Picnic: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Polish-American Club of Pasco County, 7615 New Jersey Ave., Hudson. This is an indoor event that includes games, a cakewalk and dancing to Happy Music by Jeanne. Serving hot dogs, beans, salad, ice cream, coffee and tea. Tickets are $5. "Successful Fall and Winter Vegetable Gardening in Florida" Horticulture Class: 10 a.m., Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive. Presented by urban horticulture agent Jim Moll with the Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service. Participants will learn about proper timing and care for a Florida vegetable garden. Free. Thursday

Library to show 'Hachi: A Dog's Tale': 2 p.m., Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive. Based on a true story, the 2009 film is an American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a dog named Hachiko. Every day, Hachiko would accompany his master to the train station and return to greet him after work. One day, his master dies and never returns to the station, but Hachiko faithfully returns day after day. Stars Richard Gere. Rated G. Light refreshments will be served. Free. (352) 540-6391.
