Going to the Holy Land? Pray for hurricane relief

Former Gov. Charlie Crist is seeking someone to do an important job: help protect Florida from hurricanes.

Each year as governor, Crist personally placed or had a friend place prayers in Jerusalem's Western Wall asking God to spare the state from the wrath of storms. No longer governor, Crist continued the tradition last year.

Now he needs a volunteer to go to Jerusalem and extend the request. Smirk if you will, but the state hasn't been hit by a major hurricane since Crist started this. Considering the problems caused by Tropical Storm Debby, I would say let's get to it.

Pray for me.

That's all I'm saying.
