Good For You: The Lydics of Clearwater celebrate 50 years of marriage

Bill and Shirley Lydic of Clearwater celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 14 with dinner at Golden Corral.

The couple married Aug. 16, 1962, at Pinellas Park Church of Christ. They lived in Gulfport for two years before moving to Clearwater in 1964.

Bill graduated from Meadville High in Pennsylvania and is an Air Force veteran. For 49 years, he's worked for Heise Dental Laboratory in Clearwater.

Shirley is a St. Petersburg native who graduated from Northeast High in 1958. She worked for Haslam's Book Store until the couple's first child was born and later in child care at Morton Plant Mease Wellness Center for 13 years.

The Lydics are 38-year members of Northwest Church of Christ, St. Petersburg. They have two children and a grandchild.
