National Alliance on Mental Illness/NAMI Hernando: NAMI Hernando will offer the following at the Beautiful Mind Outreach Center, 10554 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill:
• Monthly meeting, 6 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a speaker who talks about her recovery from the abuse of alcohol, which she used to deal with her mental illness. She has been sober since December 1979 and will share how she has learned to cope with life.
• Family support group, 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. For family members of loved ones who have a mental illness. Call the Beautiful Mind, (352) 684-0004.

Spring Hill
Chronic fatigue seminar: 3 p.m. Feb. 9, Hernando Endoscopy and Surgery Center, 12208 Cortez Blvd. The speaker will be Dr. David Moreno, who is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Heart Failure Symposium: 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15, Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane. Presented by Oak Hill Hospital's Heart Institute. The theme will be "Managing Your Heart Failure for a Healthier Life." The panel will consist of Oak Hill Hospital health care specialists: clinical pharmacist Duane Ashe; Karen Dixon, a physician's assistant in cardiovascular services; physical therapist Paul Ernandes, director of rehabilitation services; registered dietician Mary-Anne Flowers, clinical nutrition manager, and Frank Guardiani Sr., a certified cardiographic technician and registered cardiovascular invasive specialist who is the hospital's director of cardiology services. The focus will be on what individuals can do to avoid returning to the hospital after being treated for heart failure. A complimentary hot meal will be served. Free, but reservations are required. Lupus Support Group: 1 p.m. Feb. 11, Perkins Family Restaurant, 4685 Commercial Way. Those diagnosed with lupus and family members are welcome. The group, which meets on the second Saturday of each month, is facilitated by Linda Calcavecchia, a member of the Lupus Foundation of Florida. (352) 683-5168.
