Ron and Joan Davis of Spring Hill are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. They were married Aug. 15, 1964, in Detroit. Celebrating with them this year is maid of honor Betty Soja and bridesmaids Helen Dornfried, Anna Calvert and Patricia Doherty, along with best man Ted Davis and groomsmen Bob Brandt, Carl Dornfried and Mike Doherty.

The couple moved to Spring Hill in 1999 from Redford Township, Mich. Both are members of the Michigan Club of Hernando County, where Ron has served as president and Joan headed up a committee to collect donations for the Dawn Center.

The Davises' home is known in their neighborhood as the "Halloween house," with more than 30 life-size skeletons and bodies adorning the front yard each year.

The couple have one daughter, June, as well as two grandsons, Jason and Jared, who all live in the area.
