American Heroes Golf Tournament: Hosted by Marine Corps League Detachment 1002, proceeds will go to injured veterans and their families at the James A. Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa, scholarships for veterans' children, and military benefits programs in Hernando County. Includes a barbecue, awards and prizes. There will also be prizes for holes-in-one, longest and straightest drives, and closest to the pin. There will be a putting contest, a 50/50 raffle, an auction and door prizes. Grief's Journey bereavement program: An eight-week support group for newly bereaved adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. HPH Hospice bereavement counselors will help the group understand the grief process and explore coping strategies. Attendance at one of the first two meetings is necessary to continue with the group. 'It's Your Right to Decide' health care advance directive forum: Hosted by HPH Hospice. Presented by lawyer George Germann and Dr. David McGrew. Germann specializes in probate, estate planning, guardianships and elder law. McGrew is the medical director for HPH Hospice. Ridge Manor Area Crime Watch Omelet Breakfast: Omelet chefs will include U.S. Rep. Rich Nugent, Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis and Hernando County Commissioner James Adkins, as well as crime watch members. Omelets are made to order and may include ham, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon bits, onions and peppers. Meals also include sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy, coffee, tea and orange juice. 'A Passion for Fashion' Prom Expo and Fashion Show: The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of the Nature Coast. Area restaurants will offer tastings from their menus from 5 to 6 p.m., and there will be entertainment by Dennis Baker and Soul Xpres, as well as local talent, throughout the evening. There will be a fashion show of dresses by David's Bridal, Seven McGrath Designs and donated dresses. Students and parents will be able to browse for prom essentials. There will also be prizes given away, including jewelry, tuxedo rentals, dresses and other items for prom.
