UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: Jennifer Mee has been found safe, police said Saturday afternoon. Mee found her way to a relative's home Friday night, they said.

ST. PETERSBURG — Jennifer Mee, who was known as the "Hiccup Girl" because she could not stop hiccuping, is missing, St. Petersburg police said Saturday.

Mee, 18, left her home around 7 p.m. Thursday near 22nd Avenue S and was seen walking south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street. Police said Mee is 5 feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair that extends past her shoulders. She was wearing dark capri jeans, a black hoodie pullover and purple flip-flops.

Mee burst into the spotlight in January 2007 with a case of hiccups that lasted nearly six weeks. At one time, she was hiccuping 50 times a minute and couldn't attend school.
