Clubs and organizations

Members of the Northcliffe Baptist Church aerobic exercise group met recently at the Hernando Beach home of one of its members for lunch. Attending were Prudy Sisti, Debbie Weadick, Darlene McCallister, Vickie Stewart, Mary Chiusano, Vicki Collins, Doris Wood, Val Peck, Nellie Brunn, Agnes Buck, Sandy Fish, Sharon McBride, and Ellen and Gerald Harsh.

The Alzheimer's Family Organization recently had its ninth annual Alberta's Fashion Show in Trinity. The event was co-sponsored by Seasons Memory Care. Event committee members included: Crystal Olson, chairwoman; Sandy Knapp; Judy DePetrillo; Alice Delgardo; Debbie Humphrey; Lois Dye, and Aida Norton-Polanco. More than $12,000 was raised.

The Alzheimer's group serves Citrus, Hernando, northern Hillsborough, Lake, Pasco, northern Pinellas and Sumter counties.

Builders group awards scholarships

The Hernando Builders Association recently presented its 2013 HBA Spike Club Scholarships. Recipients Emma Betters, Nicholas Crocket and Gabriella Napolitano each received $500. The recipients received certificates of recognition during the recent family barbecue event at the HBA office. Jim Linn, HBA president, made the presentations to Betters and Napolitano. Crocket was unable to attend.

Betters, a graduate of Springstead High School; Crockett, of Nature Coast Technical High School, and Napolitano, of Weeki Wachee High School, all plan a future in building-related fields.
