Dougherty named, Porton reappointed to PHSC seats

Gov. Rick Scott recently announced the appointment of John Dougherty to the board of trustees for Pasco-Hernando State College and the reappointment of Morris Porton, who has served on the board since November 2011.

Dougherty, 55, of Spring Hill, has 25 years of experience as a CPA and financial planner. He is a managing member of Dougherty & Associates, an investment advisory firm. His appointment as a trustee began Dec. 17 and runs through May 31, 2015.

Porton, 67, of Spring Hill, is a senior vice president at Florida Traditions Bank with 44 years of banking experience. His reappointment began Dec. 17 and will end May 31, 2017.

Appointments are subject to confirmation by the state Senate.
