Hometown Hernando for July 17

The Hispanic Scholarship Civic & Cultural Foundation recently presented its Anthony Velez scholarships.

The scholarships, each for $500, were awarded based on academic accomplishments, community involvement and participation in school-worthy programs.

Recipients included: Alina Burden of Weeki Wachee High School; Lislanny Perez and Arianny Selema, both of Central High School; Giovanni Perez of Hernando High School, and Sierra Ruiz of Nature Coast Technical High School.
