Hometown Hillsborough, Sept. 1

Once-in-a-lifetime day at Bobby Hicks Pool The South Tampa Aquatic Team recently welcomed six-time Olympic medalist and former world record holder Brendan Hansen, left, and three-time NCAA champion and potential 2016 Olympic swim team candidate Dax Hill, second from left, to the Mutual of Omaha BREAKout! swim clinic at Bobby Hicks Pool. The day started with autographs and photos, followed by skill-building time in the pool with Hansen and Hill. More than 60 swimmers participated in the event and could race against a gold medal swimmer. Together, the South Tampa Aquatic Team and STAT swimmer Samantha Baker created Sammy’s Swim-A-Palooza, a fundraising event that helped raise $4,000 to bring the swim clinic to Bobby Hicks Pool. Additionally, any money raised from both the Swim-A-Palooza and BREAKout! swim clinic directly benefited STAT’s diversity and outreach program that teaches community children how to swim. Pictured are: Hansen, Hill, Zoey Haight, Izzy Haight, Lilly Haight and Elijah Haight.
