Hometown Pasco for Sept. 2

Saint Leo University hosts teacher boot camp: Saint Leo University recently hosted a free Beginning Teacher Boot Camp as a public service by the School of Education and Social Services at Saint Leo, and new teachers were welcome, whether they graduated from the university or not. Beverly Ledbetter, who designed and organized the camp, was the leader for the training session. Ledbetter advised new teachers on how to dress comfortably, yet professionally. She also recommended basic equipment needed. Teachers received a list of questions to ask mentor teachers, and classroom rules and discipline plans were discussed. Shown is William J. Lennox Jr., president of Saint Leo University, welcoming new teachers Amanda Ricard and Katelyn Kans, both graduates of Saint Leo, as Ledbetter looks on.
