Six horses were donated to the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch in Live Oak in Suwannee County on Tuesday. Five horses were seized in an animal cruelty investigation in Wimauma in January, and a sixth was born March 22. The Boys Ranch is a residential care facility for troubled boys. The boys participate in activities such as swimming, baseball, volleyball, canoeing, and arts and crafts. In addition, they participate a structured work program and attend school at the ranch or in the community.
