Charles Ray — better known to many as Santa Claus — and his wife, Carole, transformed a storefront at 5752 Main St., New Port Richey, into the North Pole — and then themselves into its fabled residents. The couple dressed as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and posed for photos with visitors seven days a week until the big day: Christmas. Children could visit with Santa for free as long as they liked. Photographs were available for purchase.
