Kiwanis Club members help Ironman athletes
During the recent Ironman competition, the Kiwanis Club of Springtime City in Clearwater was responsible for Run Aid Station 2, located just west of the Memorial Causeway Bridge. All 1,600-plus Ironman runners passed both sides of the aid station twice.
Kiwanis Club members began their day at 7 a.m. and worked until 3:30 p.m., supplying each runner with drinks, fruits and ice-cold sponges as they sprinted by.
This is the fifth consecutive year this Kiwanis Club has staffed the aid station with the leadership of the Community Services Committee chairman, Doug Williams.
