Local radio needs to re-emphasize local

I'm glad President Obama isn't promoting the "Fairness Doctrine," because the market should dictate what we hear.

But why do so many crave the current homogenous programming? Whether it's Glenn, Rush or Sean, it's basically the same opinions on national issues. Meanwhile, the local issues that matter go ignored.

Radio should be about community (see WMNF), not syndication. If more stations remembered that, maybe we would get a fair and balanced offering. ...

Ranting on TV that the stimulus package won't work? Easy. Giving the complex approach a chance to work so consumers regain confidence? Also easy, but it garners far less attention. ...

I've lived in this state my entire life, but given our current economic conditions, I've never had more fear of a major hurricane. ...
