A memorial service for Bill Jackson, founder of the Pinellas Park outdoor store that bears his name, will be open to the public Feb. 23.

The service in classrooms at Bill Jackson's, at 9501 U.S. 19 N, will run from noon to 2 p.m. and feature a slide show of Jackson's adventures, employee Laura Monahan said.

Jackson died Tuesday, a few weeks after he suffered a fall. He was 98 years old. The sporting equipment store he founded was a Pinellas County staple since it opened in 1952.

A private funeral service will be held this weekend.
