Museum of History presents craft beer festival

Craft Beer festival: The St. Petersburg Museum of History will host "Beers on the Pier," a craft beer festival, from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the museum, 335 Second Ave. N. The fundraising event is presented by J.J. Second chance benefit: The Red Tent Women's Initiative will sponsor "Shop for a Great Cause," a benefit for the Second Chance Closet, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Necessories Gallery & Boutique, 2057 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. The event includes refreshments and a silent auction; merchandise will be discounted, and 20 percent of sales will go to the closet, which provides women from the Pinellas County Jail with clothing for a second chance at success. Sweet contest: The annual gingerbread house decorating competition to benefit the American Red Cross runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Loews Don CeSar Hotel, 3400 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach. Holiday nonevent: "Everybody who's anybody won't be there," the invitation reads. Through Dec. 24, the nonprofit Personal Enrichment Mental Health Services is seeking contributions for its annual nonevent, the "No-Show No Snow Holiday Ball," to benefit its children's programs. Queen's court grants: Pinellas County's Queen's Court is accepting grant applications for the 2016 Queen of Hearts Ball.
