ST. PETERSBURG — The saga of the Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay will be featured on the Colbert Report on Tuesday night.
The program will be shown at 11:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.
The Mystery Monkey was on the lam in the Tampa Bay area for several years before he settled into a thickly wooded neighborhood in southern Pinellas County. Many residents grew to adore the creature.
His story gained national attention and has been featured before by the show's host, Stephen Colbert.
The monkey was finally captured Oct. 24, about three weeks after it bit a woman outside her home.
Renamed Cornelius, the monkey has been relocated to a Pasco County zoo.
