Volunteers from Nativity Catholic Church’s Nativity Outreach Food Pantry & Food Bank will be on hand Saturday for the Taste of 2012. All proceeds will go to the food bank.

The Taste of 2012 always proves to be a family-friendly event for folks looking to sample foods from various restaurants and support a good cause.

Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E Brandon Blvd., hosts the event Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Participating restaurants include Beef 'O' Brady's, Brocato's, Chick-fil-A Valrico, Copper Bell Cafe, Dunkin' Donuts, Formaggio's, Golden Corral, Hungry Howie's, Mimi's Cafe, Neighborhood Bistro, O'Brien's Irish Pub, Olive Garden, Panda Express, Ruby Tuesday, Starbucks, Sweet Tomatoes, Tres Amigos Cantina and Yuengling Brewery.

In addition to the food and drink, volunteers have lined up gift baskets and prizes for a raffle, including a basket with gift cards from Toys "R" Us, a rod and reel set valued at $150 and a technology basket.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Children 3 and younger are free, and children 4 to 8 are $5. All proceeds benefit the Nativity Outreach Food Pantry & Food Bank. For ticket information, call (813) 681-4204.
