Robert Cundiff, a Clearwater Christian College professor and officer in the Clearwater chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, presents Renee Crane with Silver ROTC medal.

The Clearwater chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution awarded the Silver ROTC medal to Clearwater Christian College senior Renee Crane during a ceremony April 22 on the college campus.

Robert Cundiff, professor of communications at Clearwater Christian College and second vice president of the Clearwater chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, made the presentation.

Crane is a communications major and a four-year cadet in the CCC Air Force ROTC program.

She was selected by the college administration and ROTC officers for outstanding leadership qualities, military bearing and general excellence.

According to the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution, the medal fosters the principle of the "citizen-solider," exemplified by the Minutemen of Revolutionary War days and is approved by the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.

Crane, the daughter of James and Rhonda Crane of Capac, Mich., graduated May 4 and will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force.
