According to a St. Petersburg Times/Miami Herald/Bay News 9 poll, 54 percent of Floridians strongly support or somewhat support oil drilling 3 to 10 miles off the coast.

I would, too, if I actually believed the pie-in-the-sky promises being made by the industry and its lobbyists.

We need to have everyone who favors drilling go rent The Music Man. There might be trouble in River City, but drilling isn't the answer. …
