Busch Gardens Tampa veterinarian Dr. Peter Black performs wing surgery Monday on a southern American bald eagle at the park's state-of-the-art Animal Care Center. The eagle was rescued Friday, the Fourth of July, at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, unable to fly. Busch Gardens' veterinary staff wrapped the broken wing in red, white and blue bandage tape to support it until surgery was performed. The eagle will stay under the close watch of Busch Gardens' animal care staff for the next four to six weeks and then will be moved to a rehabilitation facility.
