Boot is a sweet, rambunctious puppy. He is 9 months old and is already taller than most adult dogs at the Humane Society shelter. Boot gets along well with other dogs and children, under supervision. It is not known how well he might get along with cats. Also, shelter volunteers caution that those with small dogs might have to think twice about adopting Boot, as he is large, full of energy and may unintentionally play too rough. Boot is up to date with his shots and has been neutered and microchipped. Inquiries about adopting Boot or other dogs and cats can be made at the Humane Society of the Nature Coast shelter at Wiscon and Mobley roads, Brooksville. Visiting hours at the shelter is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The shelter is run strictly on donations; no government subsidies are provided. The adoption fee is $50 for cats, $75 for dogs, to cover the cost of some shots, spaying/neutering and deworming. For information, call (352) 796-2711. Website: naturecoasthumanesociety.org.
