Law enforcement agencies from across Pinellas County are participating in the 25th annual Special Olympics Torch Run on Wednesday.

The run began at 8:15 a.m. at the St. Petersburg Police Department and will end at Paul B. Stephens school in Clearwater around 1 p.m.

The torch is passed to runners from different Pinellas agencies in a relay as Special Olympics athletes greeting runners along the way and at the end of the race.

Motorists should check the torch run route for road closures.

10:15 a.m.: Nina Harris Exceptional School (3.5 miles), 70th Avenue N. to 66th Street, then north to 118th Avenue, then east to Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School.

10:55 a.m.: Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School (2.2 miles), 118th Avenue to 62nd Street then over to 126th Avenue, then east on Ulmerton Road to 49th Street and 145th Avenue to PCSO's Technical Services Building.

11:45 a.m.: PCSO Technical Services Building (4.5 miles), north on 49th Street, over Bayside Bridge to Del Oro Park on McMullen Booth Road.

12:45 p.m.: Del Oro Park (2.2 miles), north on McMullen Booth, then west on Sunset Point Road to Paul B. Stephens School.
