TAMPA — Restaurants attempted to make the world's largest Cuban sandwich Sunday during the second day of the Cuban Sandwich Festival at the Hillsborough Community College Ybor campus.

Restaurants including Danny's all American, Country Market and Deli, Dulce Cafe and Bakery and the Columbia participated in making the 86.2 foot long sandwich.

The festival, now in its third year, created a 35-foot-long sandwich in its first year, surpassing a 30-footer created in Miami that had held the record. Last year, a 49-foot long was created at the festival.

The sandwich will be given to feed the homeless in Tampa Bay.
