SPRING HILL — County Line Cafe and Grille chef Kevin Howe, who rose to national prominence recently when his original grilled pork recipe was selected as a semifinalist in the Live! With Regis and Kelly "Ultimate Hometown Grill-Off" competition, will be going for a chance to claim the top prize this weekend.
Howe's recipe for Sesame Lime Ginger Grilled Pork Tenderloin is one of 11 contestants from around the country that won in their individual categories. He will be vying for a chance to appear on next Friday's program to determine the winner of the Ultimate Hometown Grill-Off.
The 44-year-old Howe, who runs the restaurant on County Line Road and U.S. 19 with his wife, Karen, was entered in the contest by a customer. He then submitted a one-minute video to introduce the recipe to viewers on a July broadcast, and was chosen as the top vote-getter in the pork category.
Just like last time, viewers will be able to vote by visiting the contest Web site, regisandkelly.go.com/recipes.html, and clicking on Howe's video. Viewers who have not voted before must register at the site in order to vote. Registration is free.
Voting will begin at 10 a.m. today and end at 10 a.m. Sunday. The top two vote-getters will be flown to New York next week to appear in an on-air faceoff before a panel of judges.
The winning recipe will be featured in an upcoming spread in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.
