Sunshine Skyway to grace priority mail stamp

The Sunshine Skyway will grace a priority mail stamp, the U.S. Postal Service announced Friday.

Designed by Carl T. Hermann of North Las Vegas, the stamp showcases a digital illustration by artist Cosgrove of New York City.

Here's the Postal Service's decription: "In the stamp artwork, the bridge rises from the vivid blue water of Tampa Bay and is silhouetted against an orange sky. Tiny vehicles on the roadbed reveal the massive scale of this engineering marvel.''

The Postal Service said it has not chosen an issuance date yet.

The Skyway, completed in 1987, stretches more than four miles across Tampa Bay, linking Pinellas and Manatee Counties.
