The Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Burgert Brothers Photographic Studio with a series of events that included a celebration, walking tour of Ybor City and several presentations on Tampa's history relating to the photo studio. From 1917 to the mid-1960's the Burgert Brothers Commercial Photography Studio became Tampa's premier commercial photography firm and documented many aspects of daily life in Tampa. In 1974 the Friends of the Library recognized the historical significance of the photographic prints and negatives and has since digitized them and made them available to the public. Many of the Burgert's more famous photos are hanging up at the John F. Germany Public Library and can be seen and scanned on the second floor at the Florida History and Genealogy Library.
