TALLAHASSEE — A Tampa man is much richer after claiming a $3 million prize in a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.
"I was completely shocked when I realized how much I had won," Michael McCrea, 51, said in accepting the prize at lottery headquarters. "I plan to buy a new home for myself and my family."
Lottery officials said McCrea chose to receive the winnings from the Super Millions game in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $2,124,420.92.
He purchased the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven at 3855 Tampa Road in Oldsmar. The store will receive a bonus commission of $6,000.
The $20 Super Millions game launched last month.
