A giant swallowtail butterfly sips nectar from a hibiscus flower Wednesday at Kathy's Korner Nursery, at 6095 Haines Road N in St. Petersburg. With the unrelenting heat from summer right around the corner, nursery owner Kathy Muse points homeowners who want to keep color in their yard toward perennials like hibiscus, crotons, mandevilla and bougainvillea. Most annual blooming plants struggle mightily in June, July and August.
