The second annual Tour De Clay of Tampa Bay is Saturday and Sunday.

This year's event features four working pottery studios: two in Palm Harbor, one in Tampa and one in San Antonio.

The tour will feature bay area clay artists who will be present at the various studios to discuss their work and answer questions.

The studios will be open to the public free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Due to the popularity of the kiln openings last year, every studio will have kiln openings Saturday, staggered every two hours:

• 10 a.m. at the Pottery Boys Studio, 30 Bogie Lane, Palm Harbor. Owners Glenn Woods and Keith Herbrand will be joined by ceramic artists Harry Welsch and Kim Wellman.

• Noon at the Paper and Clay studio, 110 Peterson Lane, Palm Harbor. Owner Ira Burhans will exhibit his work.

• 2 p.m. at the Rising Sun Pottery studio, 1112 W Carmen St., Tampa. Owner Peter Streit will be joined by Joshua Streit, Chuck and L.C. McGee, and Kimberli Cummings.

• 4 p.m. at the San Antonio Pottery studio, 11903 Curley Road, San Antonio. Owner Jack Boyle will be joined by potters Mark Fehl, Kim Kirchman and McKenzie Smith.

Pottery demonstrations are planned for each studio throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Tour De Clay is sponsored by the Florida West Coast Ceramic Society, which was established in 2007. For more information, a map and written directions to the studios, visit tampatour declay.com.
