Promoter Sean Wood says he wants to build the brand of Ultimate First Friday by bringing celebrities to his monthly events. Last month, it was actor Boris Kodjoe (Madea's Family Reunion) drawing 500 partiers. This Friday at 9 p.m. at the Hyatt in downtown Tampa, it will be actor and model Columbus Short (Stomp the Yard).

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Wood has marketed the young professionals events to both the Orlando and Tampa Bay markets and says this area needs more events with star power.

That's all I'm saying.
