Labor Day closings

The following will be closed Monday, unless otherwise noted.

Government

All federal, state and county offices closed.

The Fire Rescue Administration and Fire Marshal's Office will be closed, but emergency operations will continue.

Courts

Federal courts, state courts and county courts closed.

Buses and Streetcars

HART and HARTplus will operate on a Saturday schedule. The TECO Line Streetcar System will operate 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

SHOPPING MALLS

International Plaza, WestShore Plaza, Westfield Citrus Park, Westfield Brandon and University Mall will be open normal hours. (Department store and restaurant hours may vary.)

Garbage Collection

Tampa, Temple Terrace and the Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Department will not have garbage collection or recycling pickup. Normal pickup schedule resumes on the next service day, except for City Commercial Services, which occur one day after the normal scheduled day. County residential solid waste customers can set out twice as much garbage, recyclables or yard waste on the next service day.

UTILITIES

Tampa Electric offices will be closed.

People's Gas offices will be closed.

Post Offices, Mail Delivery

All post offices will be closed; no mail delivery.

LIBRARIES

All public libraries will be closed.

Schools

Hillsborough County public schools closed.

Hillsborough Community College closed.

University of Tampa closed.

University of South Florida closed.

Banks

All banks will be closed.

Attractions, Museums

The Tampa Museum of Art will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Florida Aquarium will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Busch Gardens will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lowry Park Zoo will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Recreation

All recreation centers and playgrounds are closed and will reopen the next day. Regional parks have normal operating hours.

Attractions: The Tampa Museum of Art is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the Florida Aquarium is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Busch Gardens is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Lowry Park Zoo is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Pasco County landfill and East Pasco transfer station will open to commercial haulers.

Recreation: Hillsborough facilities are closed but regional parks have normal hours. Pasco complexes are closed, but parks and beaches will be open dawn to dusk, and pools will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
