ST. PETE BEACH The commission extended its moratorium Tuesday against medical marijuana dispensaries for another 120 days.

The commission is hoping the state Legislature and Department of Health will revise regulations for the legal cultivation and sale of medical marijuana approved by statewide voters in November 2016.

The law currently forces cities to either allow medical marijuana to be sold anywhere a pharmacy is allowed or to ban it completely.

City officials are concerned that marijuana dispensaries would have a negative effect on property values and traffic congestion.
