In the wake of a contentious battle between the Temple Terrace City Council and the municipal code enforcement board, two board members have resigned and a third seat is expected open up in the coming weeks.
Code officials Terry Goins and Ken DeVane submitted their official letters of resignation to the city clerk this week.
The resignations come after the code board criticized the City Council in the monthly televised meeting for reducing a $50,000 fine the board levied against Gaspar's Patio Bar and & Grill to just $1,600.
City Clerk Lisa Burns said the code board president, Temple Drummond, has also expressed an interest in leaving the board for another position.
If Drummond leaves, there will be three vacant seats on the board.
Burns said she is advertising the positions.
