Council welcomes Bradburn to Brooksville mayor post
BROOKSVILLE — The City Council welcomed a new mayor Monday night.
With a unanimous vote from her four colleagues, Lara Bradburn, 46, succeeded Joe Bernardini into the ceremonial role as the city's chief representative.
A fifth-generation Brooksville resident, Bradburn was elected to the council in 2006.
She is the first woman to serve as mayor since 2004, when Mary Staib held the honor.
Council member Richard Lewis succeeded Bradburn's role as vice mayor.
